In the most shocking news this offseason, quarterback Brett Favre has asked to be traded. Unfortunately for the quarterback, a trade is unlikely. The team has no intention to part ways with the quarterback, but an unhappy Favre is the last thing the Packers need for 2007.
The entire incident appears to have stemmed from the decision not to trade for Moss. It’s an unfortunate situation when the most competitive and likable player in football becomes fed up with a team to the point of requesting a trade, though it’s hard to blame him. The team has made no effort to acquire players who will make an immediate impact, and show no intention of doing so in the near future.
One thing is certain; there is almost no limit to the number of teams who would love to have Favre. Too bad it seems the Packers aren’t one of them.
