The Packers may have failed to land Randy Moss during the draft, but Keyshawn Johnson is still available and (now officially) on the radar. Okay, so the interest is only “slight,” according to director of pro personnel Reggie McKenzie.
“We’ll check him out, I’m sure,” McKenzie said. “I can tell you that if you watch him on tape, the guy can still play. No doubt that he’ll be playing this year.”
The rumors began when an unidentified source close to the situation referred to the team’s interest in Johnson as “legitimate.” No doubt the Packers will strongly consider adding Johnson to the roster as a veteran receiver. After all, Green Bay wouldn’t be hurting their offense any by adding a receiver with sure hands to the depth chart.
