Chiefs quarterback Trent Green is getting anxious. According to Sun-Sentinel.com, the veteran QB is asking GM Carl Peterson to work more quickly to get a deal done that will send him to Miami. He also stated that he is focused on this deal only, not a deal that would allow him to be traded to Cleveland.

This deal has been going on for some time now, and the two teams — Kansas City and Miami — are very close to getting a deal done. The original problem, Green’s contract, has been resolved, and the only obstacle remaining is what the Dolphins are willing to give up. Kansas City wants a second round draft choice — which they will not get for an aging quarterback who is an injury liability — while Miami is willing to part with a second day draft choice — not enough in Kansas City’s mind.

But these statements by Green express that he has a lot of interest in moving to Miami which is great news for the Dolphins. At least fans don’t need to worry about an unhappy quarterback. One obstacle remains; expect the teams to get a deal done before or during the draft because Miami is very interested in Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn. If Green isn’t a Dolphin by the draft, they may be tempted to trade up and draft Quinn.
