Full story at South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

Dolphins coach Cam Cameron and General Manager Randy Mueller are hitting the road to personally scout the top two quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft.

A source said Cameron and Mueller will visit today with Louisiana State’s JaMarcus Russell before heading to meet Tuesday with Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn.

Miami’s interest in drafting a quarterback comes as no surprise. They’ve been talking with several top free agents already this offseason, notably Trent Green and David Carr. Unfortunately, they’ve made little progress with either and Carr has already signed with Carolina. Green is now talking with Cleveland and the one thing the Browns can offer that Miami can’t is the contract Green would prefer.

But many draft prognosticators are predicting a Brady Quinn fall to the 9th overall pick — Miami. And with some now thinking that the Raiders may choose wide receiver Calvin Johnson first overall, that likelihood goes up.

If Miami does fail to sign Green before the draft, don’t be surprised if they trade up to a higher position in order to guarantee the drafting of a quarterback. After all, they have limited options at the quarterback position — Culpepper a liability and potential trade bait, Harrington leaving for Atlanta — and if they walk away from the offseason dependent on an injury prone quarterback like Culpepper or Green, things will be troublesome.

Instead, look for the team to make a strong push toward drafting either Quinn or Russell, even if that means trading up.
