Full story at The Red Zone:
Quinn, who grew up in Dublin, Ohio, has said he wants to play for the Browns, the team he rooted for as a kid. On Thursday, he spent a few hours touring the team’s headquarters and interviewing with coaches.
He arrived in Cleveland on Wednesday night and was taken to dinner by club officials.
The Browns have the No. 3 pick in this month’s NFL draft, and they could use it to select Quinn, regarded as the second-best QB prospect behind LSU’s JaMarcus Russell.
Russell visited the Browns on Wednesday as did Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson, another player who could wind up with Cleveland.
Brady Quinn has been accepted as the second most highly regarded quarterback of this season’s draft, his stock rapidly dropping after Notre Dame’s loss in the Sugar Bowl to (#1) Jamarcus Russell’s LSU Tigers.
Cleveland clearly needs someone, though Charlie Frye had his moments in 2006.
Actually, the more popular consensus is that the Browns will draft running back Adrian Peterson instead to add a running threat with phenomenal speed and athleticism. His only major concern is health.
That said, the Browns will most likely draft either of these two players. Each has his own significant upside, and both have downsides and risks. Cleveland is in need of each and this question will only be resolved on draft day. Until then, speculation will continue to grow.
